The Pitkin Projeckt is a collaboration between artists Dana Maiden and Lizabeth Eva Rossof. Part performance and part intervention, we have been researching the world of private aviation by hitchhiking rides on private jets. So far, we have camped out in front of 8 different private terminals and hitchhiked rides on 7 private jets.
The project is being documented through photography and video.
Day 1 Aspen > Leadville > Denver

Day 3 Camarillo > Santa Monica
Fri 16 Jan 2009 10:58:50 PM PSTWe decided to try to hitch out of the Camarillo Airport in Ventura County, CA.
Day 4 Santa Monica
Tue 20 Jan 2009 01:00:20 PM PSTWe made every attempt to get on a plane to Washington D.C., so we could be there for inauguration. Unfortunately, our only offers were for Texas and San Jose.
Day 5 Santa Monica > Palm Springs > Denver
Wed 21 Jan 2009 02:14:04 PM PSTAfter hitching a ride to Palm Springs, two pilots invited us to fly on their gulfstream to Denver.
Day 6 Denver > Las Vegas
Thu 22 Jan 2009 10:45:47 AM PSTTrouble with the law. Luckily we catch a plane out of there just in time.
